[SOLVED] Why did it break?

So I tried installing a new graphics card and my entire PC broke...

After hooking it up I tried to turn the PC on and nothing happened so I decided to turn it off, check connections and when I turned it on the second time smoke started rising from the motherboard and I then saw where it was damaged, ordered another motherboard just to realize my power supply doesn't work now either... How did I possibly break both my motherboard and power supply when I only installed a new gpu

Motherboard - msi b450m gaming plus

Power supply - Corsair cx450m

Gpu - completely forgot at this point ( i returned it after it became apparent i couldn't use it when I wanted to)

What GPU was it? The power supply can go bad and take other components with it. Corsair should cover damages to other components if the power supply is under warranty.

Its possible the gpu required more power than a 450 watt causing the psu to go out and burn up the mobo in the process so before you replaced the mobo your psu was probably already fried what gpu did u buy?
