Why do gaming pc have the standard Hard Drive and Solid State Drive?

What's the difference and why would you have both? I've seen some PC's that has 1TB of HDD and (x2 120gb of SSD) I don't get it.

Thanks!

Solution
SSD's are much faster drives and are used for storing the operating system and program files. Then they are coupled with 1TB drives to store the rest of your data like games, videos ect. some systems have 2 SSD's in raid to give even better performance and quicker boot times

Usually its to load the operating system on the ssds and a few of your favorite ganes for faster access. Then You put the bulk of your data on the storage hdd.
The reason this example has 2 ssd is probably running a raid set up for either raid 0 for faster access or raid for1 data redundance of whats on the first ssd.
I would think its for the raid 0 for the fastest access times..
