Why do i get insufficient disc space messages on my 2TB drive?

Hello,
I have a 2TB external drive that has tons of space available. I'm trying to unzip a virutal pc image onto it, but I get insufficient space messages. I remember getting this message before when attempting to copy a different large file to it. What can I do about this?

What is the hard drive formatted as? Some types of file formats don't allow large file sizes.
