Why do I get SPAM mail via Tom's Hardware?

Why do I get this spam mail via Toms Hardware site. I click the link to stop email receiving, but still get it.

And NO, I dont visit that sites where every one is warned from. LOL.

I had to disable all links to post this message and change some links to make it readable.

We had an attack from a spam group which sent private messages to many users on the site. We have gone in and purged all those users from our systems but an unfortunate residual is you may still have received an email notification about the private message they sent (which is also purged). The user who sent that was purged on Saturday. You can feel free to ignore it. Tom's Hardware is NOT spamming you or anyone.

Check the email of the sender, typically hovering over their hyperlink, to make sure it is from Tom's and not someone posing as being from the forum. I get stupid spam mails, all the time, that are supposedly from some reputable site.

@Rogue Leader what is the correct thing to do in such case? I don't thing reporting the conversation is possible, so we should just report user that started it instead?

You can report the conversation, it's available in the conversation window. However if the conversation is already gone from you PM box it means we knew about it already and have already purged the offending user.

As a side note if someone is harassing you over PM you can also report that way, however we can only see the conversation message that you reported, not the entire PM discussion, so if there is more to it, copying and pasting the thread contents to your report is helpful. Or we will ask you about it before taking action.

In Account Settings, under Preferences, you can change the setting for: Receive email when a new conversation message is received. Uncheck this box and you will no longer receive e-mails if someone starts a new conversation with you (including Non-SPAM conversations).
