Question Why do I have low FPS?

Hey I upgraded my GPU from 1050 Ti to 3060 Ti so I can get more FPS while playing Valorant but I still see no big difference. Most of my friends play with about 400+ FPS with GPUs which cost less than mine.

Right now I am only getting about 200 FPS with low settings and the specs below.

Specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K
MSI 8GB RTX 3060 Ti GAMING Z TRIO LHR
Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING Z390
16GB 3200-16 Kingston Fury Black RGB KHX
Samsung SSD 500GB 2.3/3.4G 970 EVO PCIe M.2 SAM
Thermaltake Smart RGB 600W ATX23

The best fps you can achieve is dictated by the cpu/ram. The gpu generally determines at what resolution and game settings you can achieve that fps at.

Just to see if things look ok can you run userbenchmark and share the public link to the results.

High background usage and RAM not operating in XMP.

How can I fix that and whats XMP?

I checked in BIOS I got XMP I and XMP II but I got no idea on what I should set it on.

It’s also single channel RAM and not dual channel. Your system is being significantly held back by the RAM not running at the correct speed and also only single channel.

Ha! I didn't even see that. That is definitely correct and the main reason for lack of performance.

I picked XMP 2 and my FPS went up about 50 now i got like 250-300 FPS

A 2x8gb or 2x16gb kit of RAM. A single stick limits you to single channel.
