Why do I have such crappy benchmarks?

First, my system

Biostar M7MIA w/ 1.2 GHz 266 Athlon and 256MB DDR Crucial RAM.
ASUS Geforce 2 GTS 32MB Pure
Maxtor Diamond Max 40GB hd @ 7200rpm's.

Tom's test w/ the ASUS video card gave him great results using 3dmark. I downloaded 3dmark the other day and my fps absolutely sucks! For low quality I get about 50-60fps and in high I get 15-25fps!!!!! What the hell? For one thing, I'm using a 1.2GHz Athlon & DDR memory. The mobo + cpu were pre-assembled and tested by the company I bought it from: could the settings be crappy? I feel like I've wasted my money to get these shitty results. Thanks for any help

i dont kno for a fact that this is your problem but its worth a try. Try updating all of the drivers including the video and the sound card and all that other good stuff.

What other stuff is in the pc??

Intel sux, AMD is better

I've tried different drivers. First I tried the 6.31 ASUS driver and then I used the Nvidia Detonator driver, basically same results. What else is in computer? I have onboard sound in the motherboard so there is now sound card, I have an ethernet card, DVD ROM drive, and a regular floppy.

Are you sure you are comparing 2000 scores to 2000 scores and not 3dmark 2001 to 3dmark2000 scores?

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!
