Why do I have such low FPS?

I cannot my games go from 100fps down to 40 random days throughout the month. All my drivers are up to date. My build is an intel i7-5930k haswell e processor, msi gtx 1070 gaming x, msi x99a gaming 9 ack MOBO, 16gb of ddr4 ram 2133hz, all powered by evga 1050g PSU. Paid over $2000 for my setup and I'm frustrated that I'm getting xbox 360 quality for game such as csgo and fortnite.

Possibly could be thermal throttling. Have you tried monitoring your CPU and GPU temperatures when the FPS drops occur? If not, I would recommend doing so is that is definitely a possibility.

Also please post your CPU cooler as it is important information for a case like this.

My cooler is an h100i v2 from corsair I monitor my cpu through 30 minutes of stress testing on valley benchmark and had no thermal throttling but ill redo it tonight to make sure everything stays a consistent 40-45

My Gpu idles at 56c and under full stress it goes between 74-75 occasionally reaching 76c. my cpu cores under full stress for 30 minutes as well never surpassed 52c at max averaging 49
