Why do I have to choose speakers as default from the control panel to have sound coming from headphones?

When I choose headphones as default there comes no sound from headphones, but when I choose speakers there comes sound from headphones

That happens when you plug headphones in to the "speaker" jack instead of in to the headphones jack.
So make sure your headphones are plugged in to the correct jack.

The headphones are connected to the correct jack, but there still doesn't come sound when I choose headphones as default
(They are connected to the green and pink jacks)
