I build a gaming PC a few months back. At night I like to turn off the PC and then switch off the power strip it is powered by, so everything is completely off. However, whenever I switch on the power strip and turn on my PC, I always have to press F1 to get into the bios and then press F8 to get to the boot menu. Then I have to select the boot drive and then finally it boots. Why do I have to go through the bios every time I turn on my PC? One thing to mention is that when on the F8 boot menu, there is an option for my ssd, hdd, and "Windows Boot Manager" then next to it in parenthesis "(ssd)". I have always used the last option, could this be the problem? Please help! thx 😀

Mobo is an ASUS Z170-A

If you always unplug PC after its turned off, you should turn off fast start up in windows as by default it is on: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-10-a.html

With Fast start up on, the PC will be trying to use hibernate whenever you shut it down, so when you unplug it, it is actually still on. It will loose any info saved in ram but shouldn't damage Windows.

Without it on, the PC should turn off completely when you shutdown and may not require you to do the F1 dance on start. I cannot be certain.

Windows Boot Manager is fine, it is the right choice.
