Why do I have to set "100 Mbps Full Duplex" to make my net working?

In the advanced settings that were set in "Auto negotiation" but it was too much slow, when I set that to "100 Mbps Full Duplex" it works flawless but I read that that could make problems, why? And how can I make my net working in "Auto negotiation" mode?

Sorry for my bad english.

Is your switch/router only capable of 100Mpbs? No 1Gb? Usually the only reason you'd have to turn off autonegotiation is if there is something very old (old NIC or switch) on your network that isn't capable of full duplex or fails autonegotiation.

This only becomes an issue if the other end runs 1 gbit, but then unless BOTH ENDS run 1 gbit, the maximum speed on that link is bottlenecked by the slowest of the 2 interfaces. Manually setting speed does no harm, you just have to remember when upgrading.

I know, auto, no thinking is the most desirable setting, but then if all these was so easy, some of us would be out of jobs! 😉

The problem is here again even with 100 Mbps Full Duplex set
