Hi

We have virgin (UK) internet using a super hub (not so super actually)! On my laptop (Win 7) I can see two names for the same connection. One was the original super hub factory set name virginmedia........... and the other is the name which we changed the super hub to.

Why are there still two names and connections showing? I can connect to either of the names.

Does this slow our internet down?

Could someone please tell mehow we get rid of the virginmedia....... name?

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

You could try reboloting the router but it's always been a mystery to me how the old SSID can cling on and display after a change. Sometimes, they disappear after a few days.

Interesting that you think the "super" hub is about as super as was the BT HomeHub and its even worse current version. Why advertisers insist in misrepresenting ordinary products is yet another mystery.

Thanks

I will give it a go - have turned it off at the mains a few times so I am guessing that is the same as rebooting?

We are now going to buy a D-Link router to connect to the not so super hub as we get irratict internet speeds!
