Why do I suck at XCom Enemy Within?

Holy ****
This game is hard
I can't even beat it on normal
My entire squad gets slaughtered on the 13th ******* mission
Even on easy difficulty I am having a bitch time getting through it ;P

If anyone has strategies for me that would be appreciated
Since I don't want to summon a ton of heroes and still fail ;P

Because you don't know what you're doing. By the 13th mission it should be getting easy. and that's on hard. You need squadsite snipers
