Im building my first build in a week and im wondering, why do all of these motherboards on amazon have such bad reviews? Im talking about those lga 1151 Z170 boards, go to amazon and search it up, they all have like above 10% bad reviews saying they're trash, what do i do? I'm planning on getting an ASUS z170 pro gaming/aura board ---> is this board reliable? Should i be worried? Why is such a main part of a build so horribly reviewd? Please help, thanks.

Most people writing the review messed it up themselves. I have a i5 3350p (p means no onboard video) were 9 1* reviews for "onboard video didn't work" and a couple of more you see on boards a lot is shipping damage to box, wrong CPU listed for compatibility, or some other stuff that makes it obvious the user didn't know what they were doing from the beginning. As mentioned before you see "died in 2 months" in 25 reviews be wary. You see 8 total reviews for a newish product ignore them all noone knows what they have 2** series boards are pretty much all this way still.

You have to really investigate what the 'bad reviews' actually say. Bad shipping, not what was expected, wrong shade of blue, etc, etc.
All quite common of getting a 1 star.
You also have to read from several different places. Newegg, etc.

Only if you see the same issue cropping up, does a real problem present itself.

This right here is the biggie for me...Something with 10 1-star reviews that all say "died within 3 months" or "weak solder connections" will carry a lot more weight with me than 100 1-star reviews that are all over the place. Especially when you are looking at a board that's, say, one buck cheaper than the competition and sells thousands more units than the competition because of it. At that point, you're going to get a lot of the type of person who will slam a product because of something silly (like shipping) or user error.

Thanks for the quick answer, really helped me out. I checked out my Mobo on newegg and it seems to be a-okay, most of the lower rated reviews, as you said, were minor things or just a one time thing such as DOA. I hope it will come working for me as it's my first build and having the Mobo not work would crush me and my spirit and probably put me off from ever working with PCs again.
