I recorded a game with Dxtory and put it into Camtasia Studio 8 to edit it. I proceed as normal and when i pressed the play button it kept freezing the video and the audio was jumping on the same spot kinda like a scratched CD. I monitored my GPU, CPU and RAM all were fine! I then tried a video with windows media player, that had similar symptoms. YouTube works absolutely fine. Camtasia then crashed but fixed itself... What can i do?

Video might be corrupted. You may attempt to fix it using Dxtory tool called "AVI Fix", it's the orange button on the very bottom of Dxtory. Don't have your hopes up too much though.

It's also possible your video editor simply doesn't like working with Dxtory footage. You should check whenever Windows Movie Maker will be experiencing the same issue to determine whenever or not it's your video editor who's the cause.

I don't have an account on this sight, so if you would like to contact me just message me on twitter @TrilogyGamer. Any ways, I had the same problem, if your not familiar with codec of the file, look it up. I had to install a custom codec for dxtory footage recorded with the codex for it to work okay in camtasia. the one I was using is Lagarith Lossless Codec. My problem is now is that when ever I try to open this footage is that it crashed windows media player. I was actually searching a fix when I found this. I hope this helps some.
