Why do SOME of my games "cut out"

This only happens to me on cod4 and civ5 and I don't know why and I couldn't find anything on the internet that helped. I don't know if its my graphics card or not but i thought this would be a logical place to start. I'm running an r9 280x(driver 15.12), 8gb ddr3 ram, i5 4460, win 10. The games in question will sometimes artifact for a split second, probably a few frames at best, and sometimes will stop the display for 3-5 seconds.

Solution
Your hardware seems more than good to run those games no matter what. Maybe it could be some driver - related problem. Have you tried uninstalling them with DDU and then installing again?

not really, i was happening on civ5 dx 11 and thats pretty modern but thats the only modern title it does it with

I see you picked a question as the fix. Did it work? If it did not (or even if you didn't do that already), feel free to keep posting here, as maybe we can find a solution if it's not working yet : )

sadly it didn't work, although i did save some space on my SSD. Any other suggestions?

650w semi-modular 80 plus bronze from some company i've never heard of, however i've found that if I play civ 5 in windowed mode, i don't get this problem. Only just found this BTW

That's weird. Windowed mode is more demanding than full-window, so PSU is not the problem neither.

I've found this on the forum:

It was in a thread with a similar problem, but the OP didnt write back, so I don tknow if it worked.

worked brilliantly, thank you so much. You are the type of person this community needs, just constant support
