Why does boot time change when drives are added?

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is in the correct catagory but here it goes.
I have the below listed system. I boot from my M.2 drive. When only this drive is in the system my boot time from the Bios ok beep to the Win 10 desktop is about 8 seconds. When I add the crucial SSD drives to the system the boot time extends to about 40 seconds. I am thinking they are indexing the drives but I do not see why this would happen every time. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Make sure if any crucial software/drivers are available to use those, otherwise the drives will rely on Windows generic drivers, if there is optimization software like Samsung magician for the crucials use that too, make sure the drives are actually on Sata3 ports not other Sata 2 and if not the Intel ports, then be sure the correct motherboard drivers are loaded. You can get funky results from ASMedia or Renesas driven Sata ports using just generic Sata drivers.

They are not in RAID and I did not install specific driver for the SSD's. I will look for one now though and try it

Boot time involves the Post (power on self test) so when you add drives you are doing several things. You are testing the additional drives not only for functionality but checking for additional boot options etc. You are adding all the info from the drives, which has to be reset in the bios and you are no longer optioned for 'fast boot' since bios has changed.
 

So you are saying there is likely no solution? I updated my SSD drivers and have an asmedia 106x sata controller along with the standard windows controller and NVME controller
