My computer has only ever run 8.1 and 10, but Control Panel says Windows 7 when I'm pretty sure it used to say 8. It doesn't matter too much I guess because I'm never going back to 8 since it proved that on my hardware it didn't work well at all
Everyones looks like that, I am on a clean install of win 10 and it shows in my control panel.
Its the win 7 specifically cause the majority of people coming to Win 10 had Win 7 and this version lets them use old Win 7 back up files. Win 10 uses same program now, not sure what 8 used.
I don't run backups from c as I have an ssd and its extra wear I don't need. Nothing on there that wouldn't need to be reinstalled if Win 10 died.
