why does HP laptop have a ASUS motherboard

I have this new HP laptop.
HP Pavilion 15-cc184cl Touchscreen Laptop - intel Core i5

I was surprised to see that it has an ASUS motherboard.
The screen says ASUS - Incredible.
I checked with HP and they confirm that it is an ASUS motherboard.

So... is this a problem.? Is this as good as a HP motherboard.?
Is it as good as a ASUS laptop with their own motherboard.?

It doesn't have turbo mode as some ASUS motherboards have.
Would I be better off with an ASUS laptop with the turbo mode?
The motherboard is the most important part of the laptop. The rest of it is just a case.
I'm thinking I should have just bought an ASUS laptop.

I don't like that they don't tell you what's inside before you buy it.
How can I check what motherboard is inside.

Any suggestions?

There is no such thing as a Hewlett Packard motherboard, they buy all their motherboards from outside suppliers. Asus is the top motherboard supplier in the world.

Some laptop manufacturers make their own mainboards (eg Asus), whilst HP and others have them custom made by established laptop mainboard manufacturers. It's been that way for decades.

HP, Compaq, Dell, all purchase OEM motherboard manufactured but Acer, Asus, Foxconn, MSI and a few other. They have requirements, in most cases HP motherboards are closer to the ATX Standard than 99% of the Dells desktops.

They also don't tell you it is likely a Toshiba or Hitachi hard drive, or a Samsung screen.
They also don't tell you where the germanium was mined.

Does it really matter?
