So I have an RX580 4GB Sapphire.
Recently while playing I have noticed my RTSS display has been showing some odd numbers, things like my GPU at 5% usage with a static temp of 40 degrees. So after I tabbed out, I noticed my MSI Afterburner had closed completely (hence the inaccurate readings). Even when my MSI Afterburner was opened back up, it seemed to ignore my custom fan curve and stick the fans at 20% constantly which got me to 85 degrees on PUBG.
After some testing, I now realise that whenever I start a game, be it PUBG, Escape From Tarkov, CSGO or League of Legends, my MSI Afterburner closes itself. This is troubling since my GPU hits high temps without the preset fan curve I have made.
Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen. I am able to reopen the program once the game has loaded, but when I do that the fan curve settings are ignored completely.
