why does msi afterburner show 8 cpus instead of 4?

so my nitro 5 came with core I5 8300H. and it is a quadcore cpu. but msi will give me temperatures for 8 cpus. whats happening?

Different programs recognize them in different ways, but it's certainly not "wrong".

alirght thanks for that. one last thing. when I keep track of my temps while playing should I only check the average of all cpus or should I keep track of each one? cause I noticed that out of 8 cpus 3 or 4 would reach 90 while the other ones stay 75-80

just take note of cpu soc temperature, theres not much u can do with core temperatures, unless u want to delid it and replace tim paste under heatspreader
