Question Why does MSI tell me not to burn-in test an 890FXA-GD70

I pulled out an old 890FX motherboard to use as a Windows XP machine.

I visited the MSI website and there was a note warning me not to do any burn in tests for this motherboard. Does anyone know what this means?

I run Prime95 on all my motherboards. This is the first motherboard I have ever seen that tells me not to specifically do this. I am honestly pretty mad about this.

I know this is almost a decade old motherboard, but this puts MSI in an extremely negative light for me.

The 890fx & 990fx chipsets runs very hot, so I would understand the disclaimer if this was a mid-line motherboard.

Considering that the use-case of this motherboard is for extreme overclocking and for 4x GPUs, these types of heat warnings should NOT be on a found on Premium Motherboards.

I agree in principle, but that warning is there for a reason. Up to you whether to risk breaking this tech "antique" by stressing it.

Good luck.
