When i turn my computer on my bios screen appears for half a second and then disappers to a black screen for about 2 seconds then into windows? Is this a problem? On my brother's computer the asus screen appears for a few seconds, giving enough time to read what button enters what. I also didn't use the cd that came with my mobo, but i downloaded all the drivers from gigabyte's website. My system is an:
Gigabyte ga z77x-d3h (version 1.1)
intel i5-3570k
corsair vengeance lp 2x4gb
asus gtx 670
seagate barracuda 1tb
antec hcg 620m

Is it your BIOS that flashes, or just a POST screen?

It's probably just black with white text which is displaying the results of the POST text; all that means is that you don't have your bios set to display a splash screen like your brother's motherboard is doing.

You timeout is set to low on the bios screen, To fix this you can go into your bios and set the timeout length to a higher amount of time to display. It's not hard to find just search thru the settings once your into the bios.

Then it depends what you want it to do. If you want to have a fancy splash screen like your brother, look in your bios for an option to display post splash screen, or something similar.

If you want to lengthen the time it appears so that you can read it more clearly, follow Truck's instructions.

Either way, it's nothing to worry about.
