Question Why does my CPU drop to 0.54ghz after 2-3 hours of gaming and return back to normal only after switching the PSU off and on?

I have a Ryzen 9 3950x paired with an RTX 3090 and i've had this problem for quite some time now though i can't remember when exactly it started. It usually runs normally and it takes like 8 hours of idle to make it slow down to 0.54 ghz (not everytime though) or 2-3 hours of "more intense gaming" meaning games like Helldivers 2, Cyberpunk 2077, etc. Turning off or restarting the computer doesn't help, the only way to make it reset back to normal is to turn the PSU off and on after that it immeditels fixes and the cycle repeats.

include your complete system specs with the make & model of ALL components.

also include the temperatures you're reaching when this issue seems to occur.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
CPU cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i RGB ELITE
GPU: EVGA RTX 3090
MB: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA
PSU: Fortron AURUM PT - 1200W
RAM: Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 4400MHz
SSD: Crucial MX100 512GB, Crucial P3 2TB
If i left anything out let me know.

And for the temperatures my CPU temps run around 55 °C (idle) 60-64 °C (under load) and my GPU runs around 50-60 °C (idle) 80-86 °C (under load)

make sure you're running the latest BIOS available
and that you have chosen to Load Optimized Defaults again after any update(s).

and you've watched this live as the max temp right up to when the issue occurs?
A little update, i have updated the BIOS to the latest version and i have been gaming a lot in the past week and i must say that it didn't drop even once. Thank you for the help (I had 2 year old BIOS version 😅)
