Hey there,
i bought a deathadder 2013 some month ago, and when i first started using it , it felt very weird movement wise compared to my older mouse the logitech G9. it felt slower, Unaccurate, and harder to move overall. i tried using different kinda settings on the Synapse and even uninstalling it didnt make that much different to be fair, im using 1800 DPI and even that range of dpi feels slow, it just goes alot slower and sluggish movement... for RTS..

the mouse pad im using is the steelseris 9HD.
thanks in advance.

You're just used to the inherent acceleration laser sensors have ,that's why you think the optical deathadder is slow and the g9 is "fast". I encountered the same when I switched from bfp4f to bf3 even with the same sensitivity because the bf2/bfp4f engine had built in acceleration issues. You will get used to the absence of acceleration eventually as you rebuild your muscle memory(assuming you've disabled any kind of software acceleration). Keep the da and you will be more accurate with optical. Also, disable ANY kind of acceleration in windows/drivers/game:
-untick the enhance pointer precision in mouse settings
-disable acceleration in synapse
-(Games)disable smooth mouse or anything similar(disguised acceleration)
The result is that...

You say you've messed with some Synapse settings...But there are other settings which can be changed.

I would suggest going into Start-->Devices and printers-->USB gaming mouse (or something similar) -->right click mouse icon--> Mouse settings-->Pointer options tab.

Here you can adjust the movement across the screen which I find I almost always have to adjust with a new mouse.
Having said that my wife and I both found her Razer death adder to be jerky in its movements making it difficult to be accurate. Just picked up one from Etekcity for $20 which I am enjoying a little bit more than the razer.
It is not quite as comfortable, maybe because its new, but I no longer have the jerkiness to deal with.

I suggest this may not be the mouse for you, I highly recommend looking at some models from Logitech as they have almost never failed me.

i did look look at some logitech mice but the only one that was perfect for me was the logitech G9, and i have no CLUE why it got discounted in the first place.i also tried the G400S and the mouse wanst my taste really same slow ish movement i didnt like it that much. Logitech seems to keep making mice with palm grip rather then fingertip or claw even as the G9.

Maybe i need to get used to the deathadder 2013.. ill give your suggestion a go.

i have the older razer 3.5g and its an excellent mouse. there are 3 settings you may need to adjust:

- mouse speed (windows mouse properties, under pointer options)
- acceleraton on or off (same window)
- mouse dpi (razer synapse 2.0)

you may also need to adjust your mouse speeds in games to fit with your new mouse as well.

generally i adjust my windows speed settings first, then change in game settings. sometimes i need to further make tweaks a few times to get things right. its a new mouse.. .sometimes it takes a few hours to get things how you like them.

high dpi + high speed = very fast movement speeds, average accuracy, low mouse travel to high movement onscreen
high dpi + low speed = medium movement speed, good accuracy, medium travel
low dpi + high speed = medium movement speed, fair accuracy, medium travel
low dpi + low speed = very slow movement speed, average accuracy, very high travel (might need to lift the mouse and reset it down to scroll across)

Some good points here. However as I mentioned I've been using the Death adder for 6 months and no amount of tweaking will cure the jerkiness for me. But I do recommend looking at the pointer properties to see if some of those things may be mitigated.

jerkiness can also be caused by your type of mousepad, the pattern on it and if the teflon feet on your mouse are worn or not.

if the mouse "sticks" somewhat then it will be quite jerky when trying to be precise.

low dpi and high speeds also can be jerky (due to low resolution but yet high speeds). high dpi and low speed can sometimes be jittery (due to hand movement)

thanks for the reply.
i cant really set the mouse speed in-game since most of the time im playing dota 2. and theres not such function in options.
i just have a feeling that my g9 was far more accurate and faster even tho it was a lasor sensor and people even judging the g9 how bad the sensor really was, but i find it hard to believe deathadder 2013 has the top notch sensor.

Yeah my mousepad seems to be worn out.. it does stick a little bit, it could be the my G9 laser performnced better on a hard pat? i could be wrong but i'll have to test it out on a few other mousepads which i dont have atm.
not really fan of cloth pads.

thank you for the answer, i guess this sums it up, it might take a while to get used to it, since is still keep switching to my g9 for some reason..

thanks though all.
