Why does my FPS monitor sometimes shows insane FPS?

Im using 1050ti 4GB on 60 hertz monitor which supports resolutions of not more than 1366X768... I use Nvidia's GEforce experience FPS monitor. I was playing Witcher 2 yesterday and my FPS monitor was showing around 2000FPS in the starting cutscenes... and while in game it was showing around 200FPS... I dont think thats correct. Im sure there must be something that im not aware of... i mean such FPS are insane!

I see these sort of FPS on most intro scenes and cut scenes on the simulator games i play! Perfectly normal, as there is very little the GPU has to render on a splash screen or cut scene. Does make me chuckle every time i see these FPS still!
