My Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 gets up to and over 95 Degrees C when im playing Resident Evil 5 with everything on High including AA and Anistropic.

My Fan speed is at 70%

Outside of games my GPU is at 55 Degrees C.

In Any other game it only goes up to 70 Degrees C.

Please Help.

My Case does have cooling in it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811208021

i think its ok to max out the fan but it can be noisy.
try 190.38 driver. i'm currently playing RE5, with 190.62 i see drop numbers in frame rate. maybe RE5 is bad with that driver (just my opinion though) :pt1cable:

just don't forget to use driver sweeper program after uninstalling the driver

since its only r evil 5 ......
you could try to take off all the fancy settings in the game run it at a low res, then if it runs cool start to upgrade the settings till you find what is causing the over heating
its more likly to be a driver issue with the game

Either set the fan to 100% for the game, or turn some of the settings down, AA and shadows can be hard on the card.
As for airflow, that case has plenty of it, and in the right direction. Of course you have the front fan connected and blowing in, right? ;)

what he said

hey old man u get around :na:

40-60 fps is ok for RE5. i think the driver itself has a bit of conflict with the game. i'm using 9600GSO and with high setting (no AA) i'm still able to get 40FPS average. :D

Haha, it might just be the game. I remember when a leaked Stalker Clear Sky demo from E3 was being distributed around the web (and I picked it up and checked it out) well, my 9800GX2 got up to 98C playing that demo with 100% fan speed! Even though it didn't crash or artifact or anything.

So when the game actually came out my card ran much, much cooler while playing it. All I am saying is that some software my be coded to obliterate the gpu to get the very best performance possible, but when it is fine tuned that is watered down some.
