[SOLVED] Why does my hard drive make a screeching noise?

When i boot up my PC, it tells me to "Reboot and Select proper Boot device".
I've figured out that the perpetrator is probably my HDD, since it started screeching at the same time this incident started occuring. But i have no idea why it does so.
I have opened it up, and it looks perfectly fine, but it's screeching nonetheless.

2. By opening it up like that, you've simply put the nails in the coffin.

Replace it, it's dead.

Given its current condition, any 'data recovery' would be well into the thousands of dollars.
If at all.

It is far beyond any consumer level fix.

This is specifically what a good backup routine is for.
