I'm downloading a game from steam and the file size is about 70gb +

My new hdd WD blue 2tb then started to click 90% of download

Causing it to disk write error

And follows a memory management bsod.

This drive is also my OS drive.
Can a chkdsk fix this?

always use the new cables. if it really doesn't click it's probably ok, if it does, do as instructed and RMA it.

test it with Crystal Disk Mark or some test tool. any not normal noise, rma it

Tested it with Crystal Disk Mark no clicking noise while benchmarking it. Everything is ok in SMART, probably just a bad cable. I Will observe this drive 'till it clicks again

sweet, looks like you are good to go
Update: After 2 days of not using my PC, it clicks again and this time I think it is really a faulty HDD, GTA V freezes every 30 seconds, some textures are missing, copying files takes too long to copy. Gonna get this drive to the shop since it is still under store warranty.

if this keeps happening then it probably isn't the HDD though. so if you new HDD does this, well, it's something else most likely
