Question Why does my headphones only work on the left side?

My headphones only work on the left unless i turn it extremely low. Then its fine. Its for xbox and has a mic in it. My old headphones i plugged in. Same prob. But no fix with the old headphones because it didnt have aslider. The opposite happens on my xbox. Please help. My mic is on theleft side.

You may have left out some details here, you said "no fix with the old headphones" what do you mean there? Seems you are leaving out some things you tried and tested. Did you test it with two separate headphones and they both do the same thing? When you say the opposite happens on xbox, that means what? The right side is low on both headsets? Are you using adapters or straight into the audio jacks?
