Why does my i7 4770K show 8 cores?

Cores? Or logical processors?

As a quad core i7 processor, this means it has hyperthreading, so Windows should see 4 physical cores, and 8 logical processors

Basically windows sort of sees it as 8 cpu cores (or at least device manager does), but task manager will show what I said in the above line (on windows 8 at least, 7 might not be so detailed)

It's 4 physical core with 4 logical (non-physical / virtual) cores. Therefore, you get 8 in total.

I'm sure hardcore enthusiasts would love to be able to buy an actual Octa core (8 physical cores) from Intel. That's assuming they can afford one because hex core Intel CPUs starts at around $575 and goes up to $1,000+.

Can anyone list the CPUs that actually have 8 physical cores?

if I wanted to Google something I wouldn't sign up for this forum, a forum allows humans to act socially and help each other out and interact... it's fun being a human, maybe you want to try it?

You're correct for now. The upcoming 6900K will feature 8 cores, while the 6950X will feature 10 cores.

problem is that question can be easily answer with a google search. maybe you should try it.
And I'm not sure why you hijack another thread.
