I'm looking at my motherboard drivers after reading a bit about chipsets. Why does my motherboard come with both chipset and USB 3.0 drivers? Wouldn't the chipset drivers have the USB BIOS on them themselves?
Is the USB controller not on the Southbridge? Is there both a USB 3.0 and 2.0 controller on this motherboard?
I'm running an Asus P6x58DE X58/Core I7 first generation motherboard from 2010. USB 3.0 was new at the time.
