Hi, I recently built a new PC which I have connected with an HDMI to my monitor. I also have my work computer connected to the same monitor through displayport. I'm able to switch inputs on the monitor to view my work pc, but when switching back my gaming PC is frozen, which requires me to power it off. I had this setup with my previous gaming PC and switching the input worked fine, so I'm wondering what could be causing the freezing with the new PC.
Windows 10
i5 10600k
RX 580

Solution
When you switch something like this you can cause a transient voltage spike....and this spike can interfere with things....and it seems it's interfering with your PC.

You may have better luck with a different switch.
