So recently decided to upgrade my memory. For a long time, I was running two same voltage (1.2v) sticks but with different speeds and the 2400mhz one was just running at 2133mhz and seemed to have no problems. I then bought a new stick which was the exact same as the 2400mhz one in my PC. Same voltage, same manufacturer, same product line, same speed, but when I placed it in the slot and took out the 2133mhz stick, I quickly started to have random reboots when I wasn't doing anything much, just opening Steam would cause a full black screen then a restart. Why is this happening? as soon as I remove the stick from my second motherboard slot, the PC runs fine, have I damaged the slot or something? Have tried a lot of options, used memtest with both sticks in and it found no issues, reset the BIOS.

Both sticks work fine individually.

Specs:
  • Ryzen 3 2200G
  • 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance at 2400mhz
  • ASUS Prime A320 M-K motherboard
  • Corsair CX550 power supply
  • Plenty of case fans/cooling
recently sold my RX580 and should soon be replaced with a GTX1660. But currently running off the APU.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong?
