Question Why does my PC have no sound

I've had this for Windows 8.1 PC for almost 3 years now and when i boot up the PC from a shutdown,sleep or hibernate mode or a restart too i can hear sounds through any device clearly for 5 minutes afterwards the sound cuts out.What could cause this and how can i fix this?
My specs are:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHZ 2.30 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Try reinstalling your audio drivers.

disable or even disconnect all unneeded devices
disable windows sound scheme
update windows
remove any unneeded audio drivers
remove any codecs
remove any players
then install just k-lite codecs
and 1 audio and video player
for example aimp and mpc home
there's only two things can be going on
software driver issue
which you may fix by doung what I've said
or hardware issues which is throwing your motherboard into a trash can
but it happens very rare
so software fix should be ok
