Why does my playstation 3 games have no sound

i brought a brand new ps3 and most games i play have no sound

If you could list the games it would be helpful.

Now I am assuming from your question that atleast a few of them have sound.

This is a technical issue, try changing the sound options.

Probably you have settings which are not compatible with most games.

If you changed the audio settings, you need to switch it back to linear PCM 2 channel from the audio settings. Check it anyhow just to make sure.

hold the power button for 10 to 20 seconds and it will reset your settings
