Question Why does my PSU have a fan connector?

Going out from my PSU, there's a cable labeled "fan connector", which looks like this, except it's only got 2 cables:

It's plugged in nowhere, yet my PSU's fans are still running. What's it for then?

A nitroX IT-7750SG. I can't find much about it on the internet.

I’ve never seen this before on a psu but if I had to guess I would think it’s so you can connect to a fan header so you can report fan speed. With 2 wires I expect you cannot control the speed but you can report it.

The Inter-Tech Coba Nitrox IT-7750SG seems to be a PSU from 2006. It is probably not advised to use it in any modernish PC. What the two wires are for is unclear, but it appears as if the PSU originally had two fans. Perhaps it is for one of them.

Maybe inner fan needs to be controlled by the motherboard,maybe psu doesn't have it's own controller.
