Question Why does my screen turn off and headphones give strange audio.

Hello I am looking for some help. I built my computer a few years back and now when I play classic WoW at least once a day or so it will turn off and the audio coming through my headphones will be like "brrrrrrr" basically a very annoying sound. I have to turn off my computer at this point and turn it back on. I thought it was a cooling issue so I cleaned my heat sink and put new thermal paste on but that is not helping. 79C is pretty hot for an older AMD CPU which only has a package temperature diode, PC may be crashing due to CPU overheat. The max package temperature on those is something like 72C.
