[SOLVED] Why does my SSD prevent my computer from booting?

I have gone through 3 different WD Blue "3D NAND" SSDs. I have returned the first two because I thought they were defective. When the SSD is plugged in, my computer will not boot. Like it will not even turn on. When I unplug it, the computer turns on fine. If I plug the SSD in while the computer is running, it will shutoff. I do not think this is a PSU issue, as I'm testing with all other drives unplugged. My motherboard is an MSI Z270 Plus (MS-7A59).

Solution
You should never plug/unplug a drive from a running computer unless you have that option enabled in the BIOS AND the drive supports that feature. That could very well be what is frying your drive.
"If I plug the SSD in while the computer is running, it will shutoff. "

Why did you think this would be OK? Is this a server? Did you do this with all of them?

Assuming it's a normal desktop, it sounds like a short it the power cable. How many power cables have you tried?

Warning: do not interchange modular PSU cables:

If so, then you have probably shorted the 5V TVS diode or e-fuse on each of your SSDs.

No, I never switched PSU cables. Also, I have a USB SATA reader that I plugged into my laptop. This drive isn't detectable when I go into Windows "Create and Manage Hard Disk Partitions"

I think something is frying these drives, but I don't know what.

As far as SATA power cables go, several of them. See my other reply, though. This thing isn't even reading on an external drive reader.
