Question Why does my SSD say it’s using more space than it actually does?

My 128GB M.2 SSD is only using ~60GB of space, it always says its using around 100GB but today it has been saying it is full, I’ve been using blender and making simulations. Here is an Image to show.

If you have been using blender and etc. and you were hitting page file, (high ram usage, then goes to hard drive) that could be sign of page file.
OFC you can disable it.

I really dont know what are pros and cons of page file, you may google them.(Im not being rude fyi, i just dont know)

120GB is way too small to house Windows & Blender (in addition to other apps). In addition, disabling the paging file is a sure fire way to system crashes/corruption. Windows requires that a paging file be present at all times. The only real fix here is a larger drive, at least 256GB, and preferably 512GB. Drives are cheap these days.

Do not "disable" the pagefile. Tears will result.

If you have sufficient RAM, turn the capacity down. 1GB min/max might work.

But, for your drive usage...

Install either WinDirStat or WizTree

Run as Administrator, selecting only the drive in question.

Okay thanks, I just moved page file to my other drive instead of removing it.

Yeah, it’s my boot drive but I like to use blender on it. I’m planning to upgrade to a 1TB.
