Why Does Shogun 2 Run So Badly

Hi there I was looking for some help as to why shogun 2 runs so badly on my pc, Im getting about 20 - 30 fps on med settings when two armies are marching at each other, However when they clash it drops way down to 15 fps and siege battles are near unplayable.

The main reason im asking for help is that every other total war game including empire total war im running on high to ultra settings and even in large seige battles im getting between 40 and 50 fps.

Further more shogun on med settings doesnt even look as good as empire on high settings and empire runs far better, Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I really like the look of shogun but just cant really play it.

ASUS 5850 1GB GDDR5
600 WATT OCZ STEALTH STREAM

wanna know hat res u are running games at first. Then, for a card like hd 5850, thats pretty bad fps. You should at least be able to play it on highest settings without aa at 1080p.

Hi there the res I am running shogun 2 on is 1600 x 1080 AA is off, all other settings are med except unit size which is set to large, I have tried lowering the res and have spent alot of time tweaking graphics options but the only good fps I am getting is on low settings.
