why does the i7 7700k and 8700k cost the same however the i5 9600k is cheaper then both but newer?

i know all of these cpu's are excellent and cant really use more then 4 cores in games but why is the 7700k cost as much as the 8700k if the 8700k have more cores and threads and why is the i5 9600k cost less then both however has more cores then the 7700k but i feel like your getting more for less with the 9600k and all of them can be overclocked, so clockspeed on all cores shouldn't be a problem. someone please explain! (sorry if its so wordy)

Because the x700 models always cost about the same,while the x600 model is lower and so it's cheaper.
