Why does the system refuse to reconnect and start synchron..

Hi all - I am new in this NG - if there is a better place for my
question: please advise!

I am using "Offline files" to keep a couple of folders on my main PC
and a Tablet PC in sync.

What starts driving me nuts is, that occasionally the system suddenly
concludes that the other system is not reachable, even though it was
just connected and synchronizing seconds ago and the system still
"see" each other, i.e. one can ping back and forth, etc.

What can cause this? And how can one trigger a re-connection attempt.
So far I got the impression, that this false conclusion re. lost
connectivity is "final", i.e. only rebooting the TabletPC can make it
start synchronizing again.

You can restart Syncronization by going to the Start Menu =>
Accessories => Syncronize...

What SP version are you running? There are known issues with SP1 (the
first rev of the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition) and Offline Files...

In principle: yes. Only that windows sometimes thinks: host
unavailable for synchronization (maybe the error msg. sound slightly
different)

I am having similar problem on XP Pro sp2 (actually been a problem since XP
Pro released). Only way to reconnect is to manually synch. No GPO or reg
hack I've tried will affect this from happening. I need someone from MS to
determine why this is happening and provide a fix - it is rediculous!
