Why does this GTX 950 not work in my PC and what do these POST beeps mean?

I swear, I'm usually not this incompetent when it comes to computers, but this problem is driving me nuts.

PC stats:
HP Pavilion HPE h9-1081de Phoeenix (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-HPE-h9-1000-Phoenix-Desktop-PC-series/5151854/model/5233491/document/c03241245/)
Intel i7 2600 @ 3.4 GHz
16 GB DDR3 RAM
HP Power Supply (600 Watts)
IPISB-CH2 (Chicago) motherboard
AMI Bios 7.12 Revision Date 12.10.2011 (UEFI Mode)

I bought a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 950 the other day to replace my GeForce 550, which I plan on selling. So I got home, popped it into my PC and all I'm getting on startup is the BIOS splash screen, then one short "beep", then about 20 seconds of silence, then another short beep, 5 seconds of silence and then 3 short beeps in rapid succession. The Computer freezes completely after the first beep.
I am unsure what this should tell me because there is no beep code that sounds exactly like this on any website I found. I guess its either 1 short and then 3 short or 1 long, 3 short. Both of these are memory failures according to this site:
http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm
The memory is all stock though, and after putting in the original video card everything works normally again.

So I thought about updating the BIOS, because Google told me to. It is now version 7.12 but the problem persists.

Could my motherboard not be compatible with this video card?
The manufacturers website says it has "1 PCI Express x16" slot. nvidia's website says it needs "PCI Express 3.0". How do I find out what PCIe Version my board supports?
I read somewhere the card might be incomaptible with BIOS in UEFI-Mode. Can I change that or do I need a new board alltogether?!?!

Thank you so much for your help in advance!

After a bit of additional research I came across this guy, who had a similar problem
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2528184/gtx-96...
So I guess my motherboard can't run this kind of video card. >:C
At least that's what this website is telling me: http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/HP/HP_IPISB-CH2_%28Chicago...

Can somebody please at least tell me how I could have been able to spot this before buying my card? The requirements seemed all good to me... How do I know what cards my BIOS supports?
