Why doesn't hyper 212 fit in NZXT Source 210?

When I was researching these two products, many people have said that 212 Cooler does fit in 210 case, but when I did get all my parts together, and assembled my computer, I couldnt get the side panel on since the cooler was too tall. Why is this? Did I install the cooler wrong, or is the cooler not meant to fit in my case?

Nzxt source 210 is capable of having 160mm tall Cpu heatsink...dont u have tall mobo standoffs? I had the same problems because i had a tall standoffs then i changed them to smaller ones so i had like 1mm more space and then the heatsink fit in.

The 210 lists compatibility with 160mm tall HSFs.
The 212 EVO is listed as being 159mm tall.

If it doesn't fit, then either you have it installed incorrectly, or one of these 2 companies has incorrect spec sheets.

In my experience, anything taller than a Hyper T4 typically doesn't fit in traditional "slim" mid-towers like the 210.

Indeed. Often, the listed clearance is not always correct.

The Antec ONE lists cooler clearance at 155mm. A Hyper 212 PLUS at 159mm fits with about 3mm to spare, even discounting the side bulge. With the side bulge, there is ~12mm clearance.

Hey guys sorry for bumping an old thread. I have this case and I just bought the hyper 212 evo thinking it would fit. It does not.

My question is with the copper tips touching the side wall slightly there is a bulge. Is it ok to run the computer like this?

Will the metal touching copper short or otherwise damage my set up? Will scratching the copper tips make it break?

Don't do that. You're putting extra pressure on the CPU and motherboard.
Send it back and get something that actually fits.

Thanks for the quick reply, do you have any recommendations? I bought this one for the price ($20 after rebate) and on the recommendation from a friend. I only used stock coolers before.

Best budget cooler on the market.

Unmatched Compatibility
Zero RAM Interference

Focusing on providing the widest range of
compatibility, the H7 utilizes an asymmetric slanted
heatpipe layout to move the heatsink away from the
RAM zone, Offering optimal compatibility for RAM
with tall heat spreaders on both Intel 115X and
AMD platforms.
