Why dont motherboard's have some connectors at a 90º angle?

Would something like the top fan header be better if it was at a 90º angle? or something like the power connector. Maybe even have more fan headers at the top insted of the bottom because it would be easier and maybe even better for cable management, to me.

Such connectors would have to placed along the board's edges, and that space is limited. Although I agree that 24-pin and 8-pin slots would be much easier for cable management if they were at a 90 deg angle.
