Ok, about a week ago my computer was crashing (blue screen of death) and it failed to load windows and gave a disk read error. I went and got a new hdd from bestbuy. I installed the new hdd and it didn't read it the first time. I restarted the computer a couple of times and it finally recognized it. I go to install windows on it and format it for the first time because it was brand new. Everything installed just fine but when it restarted to load windows for the first time, it gave the disk read error again and now I can't get it to recognize my hdd anymore. I don't know what it could be. Thank you in advance.

Welcome, DaBrickaShaw!

I'd strongly advise you to check the connections to the HDD and even swap the SATA cable and the SATA port where the drive is connected to. It is possible that the issue is coming from the connections, rather than the HDD itself. You can test that by checking how the hard drive appears on another computer (if you have access to one).
Here are some other troubleshooting tips from the community you can try as well.

Keep us posted & Good luck! :)

Check the cables that connect the HDD to the motherboard. If that doesn't work, it could be either you have a corrupted HDD or a corrupted version of windows.
