I have the legit version too - the only reason that I could see a benefit to the crack is that it was available about a week earlier than the legit beta.
Whats the benefit from getting a hacked version or why crack it when Microsoft is giving away free downloads with updates and also free legit keys??
Ummm.. Hmmm.. I don't know - I guess I just like the thought of my Social Security and Banking information floating around in Nigeria helping impoverished scamm.. Ummm... 'Scuse: "Entrepreneurs".. better their lot in life.
Torrenting is usually slower for me, but I got the OS 2-3 days before everyone else. I'm happy. Just get the untouched torrents and you're fine. I compared hashes and they come up clean, so they would have been borderline no-lifes to fiddle with the OS while keeping the MD5 and SHA-1 the same.
i agree, i'm running windows 7 in a virtual machine inside vista64. I have to say i'm very impressed with it. of course the beta version of windows 7 is still buggy, but from this preview, i'm very encouraged for the release version of the OS.
I went on a random computer review site, as they were hosting the iso that microsoft provided that friday night. Downloaded, Burned, then waited for a proper cd key =]
I got it installed on a virtual machine and now I can really give my first impression...
Wow.... its windows vista ! OMFG!
Seriously... the windows 7 beta makes it look like the entire windows vista release has been a beta and a means to make money by selling it while doing extended testing and development to it.
Maybe they should have waited another year or 2 before a complete vista release; and not let a handful of computer illiterates whine about how they can't comprehend the tiny differences between windows 2000, xp, and vista. UAC !!! OMG! it's now easier to turn off.
If vista had shipped with UAC on a very low setting or disabled, I really think there would be a significantly smaller number of vista haters out there.

The guys running a torrent server with a bootleg version of windows 7 are far a too well-rounded group of gentlemen to throw a rootkit in there and generate a new MD5 hash.
But seriously, I'm running Windows 7 64 and I really can't tell the difference between it and Vista 64. My Vista is a fresh install as well. I had a dual boot XP/Vista set up which I wiped since I moved to Vista full time at this point.
I only have a dual core chip here. Maybe it's more obvious with quads.
