Why i dont have cpu boost?

Ok so i have an i5 3350p as i know and people say its an good processor for this year games but some of them wants bout 3.4 speed and mine is 3.1 so i enabled turbo boost up to 3.3 but when i use cpu-z it shows me that am with 3.1 can someone explain this? or am doing something wrong

It will only speed up when it needs to. If you're not demanding anything, it will just idle.

Easiest way to check is to run something single-threaded like a WAV>MP3 converter.

That's what I mean - LAME (the most common utility for converting stuff to MP3s) is notoriously single threaded. Rip an album and you should see it boost up to full.
