Why i have to reinstall the driver if i change the slot?

Everytime i change the audio card from a PCI slot to another, when i start the windows it appears "Found new hardware" and i have to reinstall the driver. Why? Does Windows recognizes it as another device if the IRQ changes, or what? Why does it messes up with the driver so i have to reinstall it, if i make those changes to the same hardware? It doesn't have the driver anymore in it's registers, or what? I don't get it, it's absurd!

I'm guessing your talking about a GPU? If so; no drivers should still be compatible. Why would you want to change it anyway? Sometimes other pcie slots are x8 instead of x16 so you may see a performance decrease.

Motherboards have come with onboard sound for years. Why not use that its most likely just as good as your PCI card. Silly to swap it like that cause you are short of space.

That isn't really much of a problem now that you've elaborated. you're just going to have to reinstall the drivers, the reason being that it will register it as a different device because you changed its address when you changed the slot.
