Why ic controller of motherboard 965 heat up more than usual

my computer s motherboard is 965...its contoller heat up more than ususal and shut down the system after 20,25 minutes i want to ask what is problem with this.... is there any processer problem ?

What controller, there are SATA controllers, IDE controllers, PCI'/PCI-E/AGP controllers..

I seriously doubt he knows since all he see's is a blue screen so it must be something lost in translation and its really his pc is overheating.

@ Wasi - check all the fans, make sure they are working and not clogged with dust. Make sure the cpu heatsink is still firmly attached and that one of the corners did not come loose. Also check that it is not clogged with dust which is very common.
